Short Stuff
“Short Stuff” was the third in my 2024 series of little sculptural vessels. It is a short, squat little guy woven with raspberry and gold colored wire working up the form to a very pinched neck. (There are a few folks who call him Pomegranate.) Check out the video below to see a snippet of the weaving of “Short Stuff.”
This sculptural piece is woven completely by hand. I formed the shape as the weaving progressed. It is woven with thin gauge colored aluminum and copper wire and is signed with my initials “SLS” and the year completed.
I love the slow process of my basketry work – slow building. I wish I could show the process along with the finished piece, because for me it is a significant part of the whole.
Overall size: 2 1/2” tall x 2 5/8" wide x 2 5/8" deep
