Three Twists Necklace
This one-of-a-kind necklace is hand-knitted silver wire with a twisting silver leaf accent that also serves as the closure. I call it "Three Twists" because of the two twisted segments in the cord plus the twisting silver leaf accent.
The silver wire cord is hand-knitted with a technique called "knitting without needles". It is a fiber technique adapted for use with wire - done by hand. The twisting leaf element was created with the foldforming technique, hammered by hand. I love combining the knitted wire and formed silver textures and am continually finding new ways to use them together.
The argentium silver used in the knitted cord is 93.5% fine silver, tarnish resistant and is produced using recycled silver, sustainable labor and environmentally conscious processes.
